Graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), Johannesburg, South Africa, with formal qualifications in Bachelor of Science (BSC) and Bachelor of Dentistry (BDS).
1996 — Australian Dental Examination
Successfully passed, arguably, one of the most stringent examinations for overseas dentists
1985–1998 — Dental Practice in South Africa
Established and successfully operated his own dental practice in South Africa.
1998 — Emigrated to Australia and founded TLC Dental
Founded TLC Dental, reflecting his philosophy of providing dental care in a warm, caring and comfortable environment. His focus has always been on combining high-quality clinical care with personalised service.

Invisalign & Porcelain Veneers

Melanie always wanted straight teeth and a beautiful smile but she thought her teeth were too crooked to straighten them without full braces. She was also conscious of her chipped front tooth.
Solutions:
Dr Hoffenberg did Invisalign for Melanie to straighten her teeth and then placed a ceramic veneer on to her chipped upper front tooth. To say she was thrilled with the result is an understatement.

Concerns:
Cat hated her smile and her uneven wobbly upper teeth. She was not sure how to fix this and was desperate. When she attended my practice for a Free Smile Assessment we discussed her options.
Solutions:
We designed an affordable plan to get her mouth healthy and give her a great smile which involved removing the bad teeth and making her a precision fitting partial denture to match her own teeth.

This patient was extremely nervous after having a really bad dental experience several years ago. He hated his very chipped front teeth and the colour of his teeth. He was also told previously that nothing could be done about his chipped front teeth. Then he was referred to our practice by his wife who is a patient here.
Solutions:
After being reassured and made to feel comfortable he decided to have Natural+ in-chair teeth whitening and four Emax ceramic crowns placed on his front teeth and he was delighted with the results.

Jul was really unhappy with her smile and specifically her overlapping front teeth which were also chipped. She also didn't like the colour of her teeth. So her husband referred her to Dr. Hoffenberg.
Solutions:
We first did Invisalign to straighten Jul`s teeth. We then did teeth whitening using Natural +, and placed ceramic veneers on only 3 of her upper front teeth to give her the smile she loves.

Dr Hoffenberg began practising dentistry in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1985. He emigrated to Sydney in 1998 and established TLC Dental.
