Dr Michael Franks is a Specialist Endodontist with over 40 years of experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, in 1979 and a Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, Philadelphia, in 1979.
Michael’s focus is on complex root canal care and the revision of previously failed treatments. Calm and methodical, he’s often sought out for cases where saving a tooth feels unlikely. Michael was one of the first in Australia to adopt rotary endodontic techniques, setting a new benchmark for patient comfort. He also provides treatment under IV sedation to support patients who feel particularly anxious.
A respected lecturer and founder of the South African Endodontic Society, he is trusted by both peers and patients. His goal: to give every tooth a second chance.
