While your porcelain veneers are being made, you’ll receive temporary veneers which will allow you to get an idea of the expected look, feeling and fit of your final veneers. Temporary veneers also enable us to make any adjustments for the best possible result.
During your veneer placement appointment, your temporary veneers will be removed and the permanent veneers are placed, with a final evaluation to ensure optimal fit and colour.

How do dental veneers work?
If you’re considering veneers to improve the appearance of your smile, we’ll begin with an initial consultation to evaluate your oral health and discuss available treatment options.
Due to the tooth preparation required, dental veneers aren’t reversible. This is why we undertake a comprehensive “smile design process”, during which preferences for shape, length, width and colour of the veneers are chosen.
Once your beautiful new smile has been designed, your veneer procedure will involve the following steps:
- You’ll receive a local anaesthetic to ensure you feel comfortable and relaxed during the tooth preparation and veneer placement.
- Your natural tooth will be prepared by minimally reshaping it using small dental burs for precision.
- If the treatment involves direct composite materials, the appropriately shaded material will be added to the teeth. The preparation is then shaped, and the dental material is applied and hardened using a high-intensity light.
- If the treatment involves porcelain materials, an impression of the prepared teeth is taken and sent to our on-site lab who will customise a stunning and natural looking new smile.
- We’ll complete the procedure by finishing and polishing your new veneer(s) using burs and polishers, to create a healthy and natural smile.
